Was this an emergency for God?

I recently spent an unforgettable seven hours in a hospital emergency room. When asking the attendant ‘how much longer’ I was told at least another 21 hours. After getting some wise counsel, I decided to abandon my mission and head home.

On the surface, this experience could be viewed as a waste of MY time, AND a waste of time for those loved ones who assisted me in this process.

What sustains me though as I write this post are two important truths.

First, none of what happened in that 24 hour odyssey took God by surprise. Regardless of what I see on the surface, His sovereign will still presides over the situation.

Second, God reminded me of Philippians 1:12+19: I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Holy Spirit, this will turn out for my deliverance.

For me, there is nothing else to say. I hope you agree and, as you face these situations in your life, you will be able to superimpose these two vital truths over the situation so that your faith and trust in God will remain steadfast.
